Four Easy Ways to Grow Your Email List

By the end of 2017, there will be above 3.7 billion email users across the globe. Each one of these people promises a potential customer; with their email address, your products and services could make their way right into the customer’s inbox. However, before that can happen, you must build a list of subscribers and their email addresses. Here are four easy ways to grow your subscriber base and boost your email marketing campaign.

1) Create Opportunities

First and foremost: make sure your potential customers have plenty of opportunities to subscribe. The Huffington Post says to “place clear subscribe buttons and call to actions in highly visible places on your website.” Customers don’t want to search for a subscribe button. Make sure they find the process easy and hand the subscription form right to them.

2) Spread the Word

Your online presence is a great way to spread the word about your email marketing. Links to sign-up forms from your Facebook posts or YouTube videos let customers know that you have more information to offer, and provide an easy way to reach your subscription service. Growing your subscriber base isn’t limited to just online marketing; Hubspot says that face-to-face events also provide opportunity to collect email addresses. Most importantly, make subscribing accessible to your customers, whether you are online or off. 

3) Provide Incentives

Everyone loves a gift. Offering potential customers an incentive for subscribing gives them a reason to share their email address. Incentives can take many forms: a discount, a free gift, and a complimentary download are just a few enticing offers that customers will want to share their email address for. 

4) Pay Attention to Content

Finally, it is important to think about your potential subscribing audience. What things would they want to read? Would a plain but professional newsletter suit their needs, or would a collage of colorful images better draw their attention? By keeping consistent with your brand image and analyzing what emails are best received, you can creating eye-catching emails especially suited for your customers. This will not only pull in new subscribers, but it will also help you retain your current subscriber base.
